In the anniversary concert “Jielemen Aavoe – The joy of life”, Sápmis voice in 2017 is calling. It´s a celebration of life, and at the same time, a memorial song to honor and remember those who went before us. These are the heartbeats of the people at the edge of the Arctic ice, our fireplaces and paths – the old ones and the new ones. This is our love and respect for the Arctic landscape, which we´re part of, as we live, we survive.
The concert´s produced by the Sami National Theatre Beaivváš in collaboration with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK). NRK will be broadcasting the show “Jielemen Aavoe” on 6.th of February in the evening. Artists, musicians, actors, dancers and artists from all over Sápmi are participating together with The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), and the show lasts approx. 90 minutes.
Scene language is Sami / Norwegian and with Norwegian subtitles. There will also be a book available with English translations of the poems. We welcome everyone to join us in the anniversary concert in honor of Sápmi and Tråante 2017!
